BIO:

ALEKSANDAR RISTESKI (1937-2020)
1937. Born in Prilep, Republic of Macedonia.
1960. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade.
1962. Finished postgraduate studies at the same Academy.
1960. Became a member of ULUS.
1963. Became a member of DLUM.
He had his first solo exhibition in 1958, and in 1965 he had his first solo exhibition in Skopje.
He had study trips to Italy, France, Bulgaria and Russia.
For many years he worked as a professor at the School of Applied Arts in Skopje.
He is the author of several monumental works in Prilep (mosaic, Post Office), Kumanovo (Post Office), Stopanska Banka Skopje and the National Theater in Strumica.
He has won several awards and recognitions for painting.
Makes informal, associative compositions, with motifs from the tradition, the beauties of Macedonia, and especially from the native Prilep region, with oil paints on canvas and panel, drawings, graphic techniques, still lifes, landscapes and more.
