BIO:

DRAGUTIN AVRAMOVSKI-GUTE (11.03.1931 – 12.09.1986)
Dragutin Avramovski-Gute, born on March 11, 1931 in Kumanovo, Macedonia.
He finished School for Applied art in Skopje in 1951, majoring in painting, in the class of prof. Lazar Lichenoski.
In 1955, he graduated in painting, group of graphics at the Zagreb Fine Arts Academy of Applied Arts, where he achieved his first artistic achievements in the world, to later become our most outstanding and prolific graphic artist, who through his work goes through several stages through which various realizes his creative potential.
He is one of the founders of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje in 1980, professor and later dean of the faculty in 1985.
The Dragutin Avramovski-Gute Foundation has been awarding the prize of the same name since 1987, when it was first awarded posthumously.
Avramovski is counted among the multitude of contemporary Macedonian artists, through whose work a very significant and far-reaching process of birth, building and shaping of contemporary artistic expression is carried out. On our art scene, he presented himself with graphic works shaped by a procedure that can conditionally be labeled as interpreted figuration.
In 1955, Avramovski became member of DLUM (Association of Painters of Macedonia), and for the first time exhibited at the 10th exhibition of DLUM - Skopje.
In 1958, he obtained the scholarship of the foundation "Mosha Piade" for a study stay in Paris, and in 1961 come again.
In 1958, he became a professor of graphics at the School of Applied Art in Skopje, where he established the graphics department, introducing all graphic techniques.
On the international stage, he is promoted at the III Mediterranean Biennale in Alexandria, where he receives the first prize for graphics.
1964 Member of the Initiative Board for the establishment of the Museum of Contemporary Art-Skopje (he also created the first logo for this institution).
Winner of the "11 October" 1966 award for painting.
1967 Creates a project for the art gallery in Kumanovo and participates in its establishment.
1972 I Prize for the emblem of the International Chess Olympiad 1972 Skopje
1972 DLUM Graphics Award
1974 Recognition on the occasion of 30 years of DLUM
1984 Award for DLUPUM for many years of work in graphic design,
1984 Award "Dimitar Pandilov" DLUM
In his honor, the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje, the graphic arts study program and the Dragutin Avramovski-Gute Foundation traditionally organize the exhibition "Student Graphics - Dragutin Avramovski-Gute"
